Return to Cuba

78 minutes | DAVID FABREGA | 2016

After 18 years living in Italy, Barbara Ramos returns to live in Cuba. In the town of Santa Clara, she discovers through the projects of family and friends what has changed in Cuba but also what has not and will likely never change. Shot over a period of three years – the time it took Barbara to build her dream house – RETURN TO CUBA chronicles her life after Fidel Castro era, in the wake of Raul Castro’s liberal reforms and the reconciliation with the United States of America. A light-hearted yet energetic movie positively demonstrating that finding happiness is possible again in today’s Cuba!

★★★ RETURN TO CUBA paints an insightful insider’s view of the country, unlike the plethora of quaint travelogues or the oft-clichéd political analyses usually emanating from the country.” Full review by Bill Brownstein, Montreal Gazette.

Biodiversity: an odyssey

52 minutes | DAVID FABREGA AND DAVID AIMÉ | 2013

To celebrate the 2011-2020 United Nations Decade on Biodiversity, one filmmaker and one environmentalist traveled to 10 countries in 300 days in order to discover the most innovative solutions implemented by the peoples of the world to preserve the biodiversity of our planet. An eco-friendly educational journey through the Amazon, the Arabian desert, the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, this inspiring film shows us that, with just a little bit of effort and faith in our goals, we can do anything!

“This voyage, so respectful of cultures and people, transports us to a dimension where humanity is central to the solution, an active player in ecological reality, and touched to the core by the responsability.” – Sonya Ouellette, Lafontaine Academy after a public viewing in Saint-Jérôme (Canada).
